Warm Forest
Take a breath.
Leaves rustle, the wind a warm embrace in the cool shade of the trees. All around you are the greens and browns of a soft mossy landscape welcoming you into it's foliage. Taking a few tentative steps leads you into a bright clearing, spanned by tall grass tickling tantalizingly at your toes. Realize that around you are the places where the wild ones rest and relax, holding silent, sleepy vigil once a day upon the soft grasses thriving vibrantly in the sunshine overhead. Now you can see that, though they may not be here, the warmth of home wafts in waves up to you, the comfort of a peaceful paradise waiting once the forest creatures finish frolicking, falling gently to sleep once more upon brilliant verdant bedding. Further beyond a gentle brook babbling at you from just behind the waves of blades falling gently over a lazy slope. Following this furtive sight set upon the lush stands, up amongst the giants towering in bark, proud as far as the eye can see.
Take a breath.
Contemplate, quiet, calm, silent, strange. Being here, where no one person has ever been, one might wonder where they are, how they got here, and how leaving might be an option to consider.
Never before seen, never seen since, never found, never looked. Are they coming? Alone, left to fend for oneself, it might be said that finding landmarks could never be harder in an unfamiliar medium.
Farther, faster, furtive, frantic, lost, alone, afraid, abreast of nothing familiar no matter how fastidious or closely you look. Panic sets in as tracks once held sacred vanish in a puff of ethereal reality, never to have existed at all.
Take a breath.
Something shining bright light in the dark once horrifying now wholesome rushing wanting into wayward pathways now familiar, revealed, roiling, toiling, your blood is boiling, frantic panic you rush ahead and break into a clearing dreading, fretting, abetting your heart and mind to work together and help and suddenly in front of you you see bright lights until...
Blink.
Awake.
Alive.
Asleep.
Home.
